Korean Strawberry Milk (2)

This simple and easy-to-follow recipe hardly takes 5-6 minutes of your time. Just make it once and you will never buy store-bought strawberry milk again.

During the strawberry season, stores are flooded with fresh, juicy, and gemstone-like strawberries. How can one not buy them when they look pretty and smell so amazing.

I just love eating strawberries as it is, but sometimes when I buy them in bulk then I do end up with an abundance of strawberries that can’t be finished in a day or two. So for those times, I use them in my recipes like Strawberry Chia Pudding, Strawberry Cheesecake Dip, No Bake Strawberry Cheesecake Bites, Strawberry Panna Cotta Recipe, strawberry jam, and Strawberry Salad, etc.

These days this strawberry milk is a frequent visitor at my home. My little one and I just adore gulping this sweet strawberry milk.

What is Korean Strawberry Milk?

Korean strawberry milk is a cooling and delicious favorite Korean summer drink served in cafes during the summertime. It is a bit different than the regular flavored milk because here you don’t blend the strawberries with milk and there is no use of artificial coloring here.

This milk is mixed with strawberry chunks and chunky strawberry syrup.

Freshly made strawberry syrup and strawberry chunks add a nice texture and flavor to the milk. Strawberry syrup is made with just 2 ingredients — strawberries and sugar.

Korean Strawberry milk requires only 3 ingredients. These ingredients are:

  1. Strawberries

How to make Strawberry Syrup?

Strawberry syrup is sweet and slightly thick because it is only heated not boiled.

To make strawberry syrup, you can use fresh or frozen strawberries. Chop the strawberries and mix with sugar until strawberries release the juice. Then you can simply heat it in the microwave or heat it in a pan until it comes to a boil.

What are some tips, tricks, and variations to make strawberry milk?

Tip 1. Don’t use fat-free milk here, it won’t taste so good. Also when choosing dairy-free milk, make sure you don’t add too watery milk.

Tip 2. The strawberry syrup I’ve made has tiny chunks of strawberries. This is because instead of pureeing, I smashed strawberries with the fork. However, if you want pureed syrup then feel free to make a puree with the strawberries and sugar mix.

Tip 3. I have made strawberry syrup with fresh strawberries, but you can also use frozen ones for making syrup.

Tip 4. Always use the chilled milk to make strawberry milk.

Tip 5. Make sure to cool the strawberry syrup before adding it to the milk.

Tip 6. This strawberry syrup is pretty versatile — you can use it as a dessert or ice cream topping.

Tip 7. Strawberry syrup stays fresh for up to 3-4 days when stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

Tip 8. Strawberry syrup also tastes great in strawberry hot chocolate.

Tip 9. To make it more rich and thick, you can also add some cream.
